FAQs

Do you accept insurance? How much does therapy cost?

Yes, I am an in network provider for the following insurances: BCBS IL (PPO plans and BlueChoice), United Healthcare, and Aetna.

Insurance coverage of therapy depends on the specific plan you are enrolled in. Your co-payment is determined by your insurance company. I highly recommend contacting your insurance company prior to scheduling if you are unsure about your mental health care benefits.

If you choose not to utilize insurance for therapy, the out of pocket cost per session is $150.

How long is each session? How long should I be in therapy for?

A standard therapy session is typically between 45-55 minutes.

People often want to know how long they should attend therapy for. The answer is, it depends! Some people attend therapy for multiple years. Some people attend therapy for a few months. This is something we will assess on an ongoing basis.

I highly prefer new clients attend therapy on a weekly basis, but over time, many clients will change the frequency of sessions.

What should I expect from the first session?

The first session is all about getting to know you and ensuring that we are a good fit. I ask all about you and try to get a broad overview of you and your life. We will also discuss treatment goals and what you are looking for from therapy. You will be given the opportunity to ask any questions that will help you determine if you would like to move forward with me.

Do you hold sessions via telehealth or in person?

Both! I offer in-person sessions in Oak Brook, IL on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I see clients via telehealth on Thursdays.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask that you cancel your sessions at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations and no shows will result in a $60 fee. I offer one free late cancel/no show per calendar year.
